Job Summary:

Responsible for the fair and accurate disposition of non-complex casualty claims through investigation, evaluation, and settlement or recommendation within the authority level granted, up to a maximum of $15,000

Duties:
Interprets and determines policy coverages under the personal lines/private passenger auto insurance policy
Investigates, analyzes, and evaluates liability and damages
Develops and maintains case files that document all action
Establishes adequate and timely reserves in accordance with company guidelines
Provides equitable evaluations and settlements through negotiations
Directs and monitors defense counsel in the handling of cases in litigation, through conclusion by trial or settlement
Identifies, investigates, and refers potential fraudulent claims to SIU
Answers questions and resolves problems within established levels of authority
Provides excellent customer service
Performs other activities as required

Qualifications:
One-year minimum of auto liability adjuster experience is required.
College degree required

This position is designed to take initial claims via fax, mail or phone from our agent, insured or claimant. The adjuster sets up the claim, investigates the accident or loss and makes a liability and deductible decision and decision to pay along with applying an appropriate surcharge or subrogation demand.

Sets up claims on WMS from information received via fax, mail or phone call from our agent, insured or claimant

Duties Include:

Job Summary:

Under the broad supervision of the Underwriting Manager, supports the interests of the company and its agents by reviewing ERP policies for accuracy and to insure correct premium is assessed. Provides support to agency staff, including resolving problems and answering technical and system questions. Acts as a source of underwriting knowledge for new employees, assists with employee training. Ensures the ERP agents’ compliance with Safety procedures and policies.

Duties:
Provides written & verbal feedback to agents and insureds in a clear concise manner
Maintains agent files
Reviews reports, interprets policy data and makes underwriting decisions including policyholder, operator, residential address and coverage information using various resources.
Maintains current accurate documentation on assigned agencies
Reviews pre-insurance requirements and insures agency compliance
Insures the accuracy of new business, renewal policies and endorsement transactions, ensuring accuracy and analyzing data
Interprets and applies data contained in the Massachusetts Private Passenger Manual and the Massachusetts Private Passenger Policy Jacket to policy decisions
Reviews household member and coverage mismatches to determine whether coverage should be granted. Reviews and resolves Tip Sheets
Resolves SDIP errors
Builds relationships with assigned agencies, acting as a resource on all underwriting related issues

2-3 years of MA Auto Underwriting experience required
